Where are those missing Iraqi explosives and are they being used?

On October 25, 2004 we were told that 380 tons of High Explosives were missing from Iraqi storage units. What happened to that story?

More reports came out on June 3, 2005.

From the Right:
Up to the date of invasion, Saddam Hussein stockpiled chemical and the beginnings of a nuclear weapons cache. Theories are that Saddam structured deals with neighboring countries to hide these weapons stockpiles, mobile weapons labs and equipment. In the latest report, inspector Demetrius Perricos revealed that evidence of the equipment and materials have shown up in Jordan and Rotterdam. The Washington Times quoted in October of 2004 John Shaw that Russians were brought in to destroy any evidence of the Iraqi-Russian collaboration and the dispersal of some equipment by Russia to Syria, Lebanon and Iran.

From the Left:
By the time of invasion Saddam had destroyed most of these weapons stockpiles, chemical stockpiles, missiles and equipment during the UN sanction period in the 90's. When the US began its countdown to invasion via the UN, UNMOVIC left the country. The missing stockpiles were then under the control of US forces. Senator John Kerry was asserting in October of 2004 that President Bush had "miscalculated each step of the war" and the missing explosives were "one of the great blunders of the Iraq war".

The Facts:
According to an Iraqi letter to the IAEA, facilities such as Al Qaqaa have identified the missing explosives as roughly 194.7 metric tons of HMX, 141.2 metric tons of RDX, and 5.8 metric tons of PETN.

HMX = high melting point explosives
RDX = rapid detonation explosives
PETN = pentaerythritol tetranitrates

UNMOVIC has extended findings in their report, linked below.

My Opinion:
I believe that these explosives are now being used to kill our troops, kill Iraqi Defense forces and innocent Iraqi civilians.

My hope is that some recovery team will investigate the chemical compoud residues from these IEDs and other explosions occuring in Iraq and see if the ingredients match the tell-tale signs of HMX, RDX and PETN.
